The last daily blog from yours truly, here at HMTV6!
Southerly winds are pumping in warm, moist air to the Mid-Atlantic region today. Partly sunny skies along with temperatures in the low 80s are expected this afternoon. A surface low is evident over the Great Lakes Region. The cold front is draped across the Midwest. It will make it's way into the Ohio Valley tonight, and into the Mid-Atlantic tomorrow. With mild temperatures this afternoon, the approaching cold front will lift the warm air mass, creating an unstable atmosphere today and tomorrow. SPC has placed us under a Slight Risk for this afternoon and tonight.
Storms will have the potential to bring heavy downpours, strong winds, and large hail. With that said, a delay in evening sports can be anticipated. I think after 4PM we'll start to see things fire up.
Storms will contine into Saturday, and Sunday will be breezy, cool, but good news..more sunshine! Cooler air will kick off the next work week with high temperatures in the upper 50s, and lows in the mid 30s.
